Hill Country Day School is on track to open its doors in 2026, and we’re excited to share our latest update.
We’ve completed the permitting and financing phase of our building journey! We’re now focused on breaking ground any day now. Exciting things ahead—stay tuned!
Situated at the intersection of Highway 306 and River Chase Way, our spot offers easy access for residents of River Chase, Havenwood, Ranches of Comal and The Pinnacle and is a short 6-mile drive from Gruene, Canyon Lake and the newly developing Mayfair District and Leaky Ranch Development!

Hill Country Day School is embarking on an exciting journey, dedicated to providing high-quality, child-led education.
We are excited to share that Hill Country Day School will offer care and learning for children ages 8 weeks through Pre-K 4. Our vision is rooted in providing a nurturing, nature-rich environment where even our youngest learners will spend time outdoors—whether through stroller walks on our 5.5-acre property, nature exploration, or outdoor learning on our covered patio classrooms.
We are building a dedicated team of educators and staff who are passionate about creating meaningful, child-led learning experiences. Supporting our teachers with fair and equitable compensation is a top priority, as we deeply value the commitment and expertise they bring to our community. Collaboration with families will also be central to our program—we believe that children thrive when schools and parents work together in partnership

Meet the Founder
Haleigh Almquist
Haleigh has nearly 20 years of experience in the childcare field. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies with a Minor in Psychology from Texas Tech University. Additionally, Haleigh earned her Masters in Public Administration from Penn State University.
Throughout her career, she has taken on diverse roles, including Founder/CEO of Hush Little Baby Newborn Care, Certified Newborn Care Specialist, Certified Lactation Counselor, Substitute Teacher, Co-Founder of a literacy nonprofit organization The Davis Moon Project, and, most importantly, mother of three. Over the past fourteen years, Haleigh has dedicated herself to building the leading newborn care agency, comprising over 300 staff members catering to thousands of families across the nation. While nurturing this venture, Haleigh has always had a long-standing dream of establishing a preschool.
Now is the perfect time, fueled by the growing population of New Braunfels, where Haleigh and her family have been residing for the past five years. Currently, Haleigh is ready to direct her enthusiasm for children and her refined leadership abilities towards enhancing the local community.
